What sets Laura apart is her 25 years of direct patient care, all in the hospital setting. Few achieve this many years "at the bedside." Laura holds a CCRN certification and began her career on the East Coast. She worked in NYC and CT hospitals, including Yale New Haven Hospital, Roosevelt Hospital, and St Vincent's. She eventually worked as a travel nurse to reach her ultimate destination of California, where she now resides. She holds a master's degree in nursing leadership and education and had the opportunity to present at a world nursing conference in Paris just before the pandemic began.
Always interested in legal nurse consulting, Laura opened her own business in 2020. She has since enjoyed assisting both plaintiff and defense attorneys with personal injury, workplace injury, and medical malpractice cases. She continues to work in the ICU, serving as a staff nurse, relief charge nurse, and rapid response nurse. In her rapid response role, she responds to patient emergencies, such as codes, strokes, and falls. She also teaches classes about how nurses can be "legally savvy" while at work. Laura has written two chapters in the best-selling books, Medical Record Analysis, Vol. 3 & 4. Her chapters discuss falls and IV injuries.
While not working, you can find Laura spending time with her family in beautiful Northern California, reading, visiting book stores, working out, and walking her two dogs.
